Name of the map: mp_deliberation Creator name: ADFault Creator email: adfault@yahoo.com Creator URL: n/a Version: 1 Release Date: March 11th 2010 For what game: Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare Supported Gametypes: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Headquarters, Search and Destroy, plus the side mission, Deliberation. Description: Deliberation is a small city of two blocks by four and roughly 20 acres in area, the center of which was destroyed and is now undergoing the final stages of reconstruction. It has two parks with fountains, variable weather/visibility (30% rain, 30% fog, 40% clear), and is also host to a team-based, side-mission gametype. This gametype will run no matter which gametype you have the map set to in your configuration, though on your server it will only have the importance that your players decide to give it. If you play search and destroy for example, each round will still only end according to the search and destroy rules as with any other map, as there is nothing in the script here that will end the game. Although Deathmatch is supported by the map and can be played as usual, this team-based side-mission will be of no value. You can also play the game alongside Headquarters, but I'd recommend it with Team Deathmatch to get the most out of it. The game itself has no doubt familiar elements to Domination, but instead of flags I've used non-player characters. In play, there are four civilian contract workers, and the single player game team leaders Price, and Zakhaev. If you play as the Marines you have to free any shackled NPCs, apart from Zakhaev who you should try and capture; and if you play as OPFOR, you have to capture all NPCs apart from Zakhaev who you should try and free. But first you'll have to find them as they are not marked by any arrows or shown on the minimap. Furthermore, there are 9 possible setup arrangements for these NPCs, from which, one will be chosen at random at map load. When these factors are combined with the size of the map, it is unlikely that one person would find all 6 NPCs in ten minutes (I struggle to anyway, and I know where they might be!), so it's probably going to require some coordinated searching. When combined with the random weather/visibility, there should be some variety in gameplay to be found at each load. If any NPC is killed, they will simply disappear and not respawn. If you kill a civilian you will be discharged from your unit and then respawn (unless your main gametype is a non-respawn type of course). If you play as Marines, your progress around the map will also be interrupted for killing Price, or Zakhaev - if he is shackled; and similarly if you are OPFOR and kill Zakhaev, or Price - if he is shackled. Shackles are worn around the ankles, (the NPCs will not move in any case), and they are placed/removed with the 'use' key. Team scores will be displayed at 20 second intervals in the left scrolling information pane, where other information e.g. NPC deaths and offending players will also be shown. The following points will be scored: Civilians +50 for capturing (OPFOR)/freeing(Marines) -100 for killing, and offending player will be discharged from their unit Price +500 for capturing (OPFOR)/freeing(Marines) -500 for killing (Marines) and offending player will be discharged from their unit +250 for killing (OPFOR) only if unshackled, if shackled - no points, and offending player will be discharged from their unit Zakhaev +500 for freeing (OPFOR)/capturing(Marines) -500 for killing (OPFOR) and offending player will be discharged from their unit +250 for killing (Marines) only if unshackled, if shackled - no points, and offending player will be discharged from their unit So, in terms of points, maybe you are better trying to capture the enemy's leader if you can, but if time's short you might want to take him out if you get the chance. You will want to try and make more clear shots on enemy combatants as there may be civilians in the area.
